Natalie Portman Body Double Upset Over Credits in 'Black Swan'

Everyone knows Natalie Portman used a body double for some of the dancing in the movie Black Swan. The dance double's name is Sarah Lane, and she's upset.

Dancer and choreographer Benjamin Millepied is Natalie Portman's fiance. He gave an interview to the Los Angeles Times in which he states that Natalie performed 85% of the dancing that is shown in the movie for which she won an Oscar, 'Black Swan.' Before the Oscars, Portman stated in interviews that her dance double, Sarah Lane, did the complicated routines for the movie. Natalie trained for over a year for the dancing she would have to do in her role as ballet dancer Nina Sayers, but has always been candid about the dancing Sarah Lane did for the movie.

Now Sarah Lane is upset over Millepied's statements about the amount of her dancing that is shown in Black Swan. She is also upset because she was only credited as being a "Hand Model", "Stunt Double" and "Lady in the Lane" in the closing credits for the movie, even though she was not promised any more than that. She claims much more than 85% of the movie is her, and claims Portman would never have won the Oscar without her. She's upset that Natalie Portman is being credited with learning to be a professional ballet dancer, thus claiming her the Oscar. In reality, Portman received the Oscar for her performance as an actress, not for her ballet dancing. An Oscar is about the acting, not the dancing.

Fox Searchlight issued a statement in which they say "...Natalie herself did most of the dancing featured in the film." Some people are wondering if Sarah Lane is going to pursue this nasty battle she has going, or if she will stop now that a producer told her not to talk to the press. Should she be given more credit for her dancing, or is being in the shadows just part of being a body double?
